TASECO MAKES ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTION OF VND 11 BILLIONS TO SUPPORT WORKERS TO OVERCOME PANDEMIC

SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) has been well under control for 3 months in Vietnam. At hospitals and health care facilities, the doctors and health care workers make the best efforts for Covid-19 treatment around the clock. Many workers face unemployment, income reduction so their lives become more difficult. Particularly, the Covid-19 epidemic has impacted the entire Taseco’s air service business, 92/93 business points of Taseco Airs at airports and the À La Carte hotel have been shut down since March 28, 2020. More than a thousand employees of the Company have lost their jobs (suspend  or even terminate the Labor Contract).

Sharing with employees, the Taseco Trade Union launched the "Taseco Charity Fund Raising" programme to help them overcome difficulties with the spirit of solidarity, mutual support.

Overview of the fund raising ceremony in Hanoi

In the morning of April 27, 2020, the ceremony took place simultaneously at 3 locations: Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with the enthusiastic participation of the shareholders, company leaders and managers of Taseco and its subsidiaries, affiliates.

Mr. Pham Duc Long - Deputy General Director, Taseco Trade Union representative said: “The Company's leaders are always concerned to look for solutions to cope with the pandemic situation and to take care of the employees who are severely affected by the pandemic ”.

At the launching ceremony, Taseco Charity Fund received over 11.2 billion VND, showing the warm human love and the sincere sharing of shareholders, leaders, managers of Taseco with employees.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Chairman of Taseco Trade Union expressed his sincere thanks to shareholders, leaders and managers of Taseco for their material and spiritual supports. Due to the supports, Taseco Charity Fund can carry out timely and meaningfully charitable activities. He also shared: The fund would aim at: supporting employees in Taseco's subsidiaries and affiliates who are facing difficulties, paying tribute to the frontline health care workers in prevention of Covid-19 disease, and other charitable activities sharing responsibility with the community and society.

Before Taseco Charity Fund was founded, since early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, aware of sharing social responsibility, community responsibility, Taseco and its subsidiaries had contributed cities and localities in the disease prevention. A disbursement of VND 6.5 billions had been made by Taseco focusing on the following purposes:

+ Supporting health care facilities in the disease prevention: Medical University Hospital, Da Nang Hospital, and supporting other health care facilities through Fatherland Front Committee of Thua Thien Hue province;

+ Providing face masks and antiseptic liquid to passengers going through Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat and Da Nang airports, as well as residential areas in Hanoi, quarantine areas in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Ha Long City People's Committee (Quang Ninh);

+ Providing meals to people in Tu Hiep quarantine area (Hoang Mai, Hanoi); and Hanoi Kidney Hospital.

The launching ceremony of Taseco Charity Fund Raising programme ended with joys, sharing positive energy among the company’’s leaders, managers and all employees.
